Recognizing species

As soon as you are able to see and hear the sounds you probably start wondering what species of bat you are hearing. As it turns out that is quite a difficult task to master. To give you a head start I assembled a bunch of sound files that you can use to "train" yourself in recognize the species.

The detector has a built in feature that plays stores sounds as if you ares listening live. To use this simply start the play function and choose the samplerate "Direct".

Direct will not slow down the sounds but plays the full speed. You can use the sounds you recorded, or the files I gathered. Be aware you can only use sample rates up to 281kHz for this.

The training files are bat species and some crickets or grashoppers that can be found in Europe
